Midas Auto Service Centers Over Selling Automotive Repairs in California
I can relate with this article I read this morning about Midas Auto Service Centers over selling automotive parts and repairs. I spent some time in my earlier years working for Midas Auto Service Centers but mostly in the mid west area. I can tell you some stories that would curl your hair sort of speak. But I can tell you some customer experiences I had while working there.
One thing I do remember that sounds a little like the above article is there were incentives to over sell more than what was needed sort of speak. I can remember the big screen television sets for whoever sold the most or who had the highest selling ticket averages. I can honestly say that not all Midas Auto Service Centers over sell auto repairs. The reason why I can say that is when I transferred to another Midas location in another state there was no incentives to over sell the customer. I was surprised!
This new Midas Auto Service Center’s location was in the south west and did pay their technicians very well. Maybe that is the reason why some Midas shops over sell their auto repair services such as this one in California. I understood the owner of the Midas shops in question has over 22 Midas Auto Service Centers. I can see how maybe they had a competition between the stores to see who had the highest sales each month. I know the automotive technicians aren’t worried about their Midas stores going under because they can just move to another location or franchise.
The tactics they maybe using are ones such as telling the customer, “when you replace one you have to replace the other.” This will always get the unsuspecting customer to buy. Another common tactic to use in these brake repair shops are to use broken micrometers and measuring devices to show the customer their automotive parts are out of specifications and need to be replaced. This is over selling automotive parts and repairs. I can honestly say when it comes to Midas Automotive Service Centers, the owners are always insisting on over selling to raise their ticket averages. In my opinion they can either pay their technicians better or resort to illegal over selling tactics such as the ones in California.
So in short if you want to take something away from this article make sure that you get a second opinion on your auto repairs. Most auto repair shops will try to beat a competitors price just to get your business. Midas Auto Service Centers need to take a look around and see these shady tactics will only last so long and when it comes to over selling auto repairs, do not do it.

Renault unveils Sandero Stepway concept in Brazil

If you've ever heard of the Dacia Sandero, it's probably from Clarkson teasing James May about it on Top Gear. The no-nonsense, bare-bones hatchback – sold alternatively as a Renault in markets where its budget subsidiary Dacia doesn't exist – is a favorite of Captain Slow.
In South America, the Sandero also comes as a crossover version called the Stepway, and taller though it is, it's just as decidedly spartan. That didn't stop Renault from drumming up some excitement over the budget range, however, with the show car you see here.
Envisioned as a successor to the current model and closer to a junior Duster, the Sandero Stepway Concept dials up the glitz factor just a touch with a sporty body kit, three-tone paint scheme and enough blue LEDs to light up the trendiest of night clubs. Also, some flower decals... for some reason. The result is something akin to a futuristic cup of cappuccino...

Umbrella Auto Design tricks out the Nissan GT-R's cockpit

If the Nissan GT-R is going to seriously take on the Porsche 911, it's going to need to do a bit better on the interior fit and finish. Nissan's own people realized that much when they launched the Egoist edition of the new GT-R, but what if you've already got your Godzilla in the driveway? What are you to do then?
Turn to Umbrella Auto Design, that's what. The Seattle-based tuners have announced an aftermarket retrofit for the GT-R's interior that swathes the entire cabin – seats, dashboard, console, instrument binnacle, steering wheel, door panels, shift levers, etc. in luxe and racy black ultra-suede with silver diamond quilting and top-stitch. They've even repainted the plastics in black to match. Looks pretty slick, and they can reportedly carry it out on any GT-R in about three weeks. Check it out in the gallery below.

Bieber turned 16 earlier this month and marked the occasion by having a huge party with all his friends in Los Angeles, but his Sweet Sixteenth was marked by his mentor Usher when the Yeah! hitmaker unveiled a brand new Range Rover for the teen.
"I haven't really bought anything; I haven't really went out and bought a bunch of stuff," Bieber told JSYK. "I bought myself a laptop, but that's pretty much it. You could also have your radiator freeze up and cause it to burst resulting in an expensive replacement. Car maintenance tips such as these are very important not to forget. Although these are directed at Fall and Winter time driving, do not forget to also check your antifreeze in the month of April also.
The Fall and Winter is the time to check the condition of your wiper fluid bottle and the hoses connecting to the wiper blades. Mostly in the Winter time driving the wiper fluid bottle can freeze up and burst also like your radiator. One other tip here is to check the hoses as they can freeze up also and prevent any wiper fluid to reach your windshield. Remember the Fall and Winter time driving will bring a lot of mud and slush preventing you to see from your windshield.
Any Fall and Winter time driving can cause you to break down no matter how much you think you are ready for the weather change. It is always a good idea to keep a small survival kit with you while traveling out there on the highways. Car maintenance is still a good idea and will help you in the weather change but you cannot rely on this. Some other items that you cannot be ready for out there driving in the Fall and Winter are things like your electrical and electronic components. There is no way of getting ready for these items to fail.

Quería daros las gracias a todos los que os habeis interesado por mí despues del accidente que sufrí el día 25 de éste mes. Me siento orgulloso de ser compañero vuestro. En especial hoy he recibido una llamada que me ha emocionado por venir de una persona que está atravesando unas circunstancias muy dificiles. Esa persona es Manolo De La Fuente. ADOLFO ROLDAN DIJO:Buenas tardes,como se venìa denunciando desde hace mucho tiempo,hoy a las 14:15,ha sucedido lo que todos nosotros esperàbamos.He presenciado, como un chico de 32 años que esperaba el autobùs en la marquesina de La razòn NII(direcciòn Madrid) ha muerto en el acto al ser atropellado por una conductora que chocò contra èl,la marquesina,la bionda y posteriormente contra un arbol.Desèo que esto de las paradas fuera tomàndose en serio,hoy le tocò a èl..........

Hola soy C.Rozada, compañero de pza castilla, y soy el unico que queda con contrato de baja, que llevo ya dos años y medio y que me consta que este comite si ha luchado, por los 14 compañeros de la bolsa, y despues de sus esfuerzos, no consiguieron meterme a mi en esa bolsa, ¿es un pena verdad?. pero solo quiero deciros una cosa,que apoyeis a este comite, que no sabeis lo que teneis, ya que la inmensa mayoria de vosotros, solo coneceis, lo que era CONTINENTAL-AUTO, ahora ALSA y no sabeis NADA de lo que hay en el sector, yo en mi caso particular, antes en el DISCRECIONAL, para llevarte 2000 pavos, tenias que currar los 30 dias del mes,12 horas diarias (escondiendo discos,cambiando de autobus,etc.....), y aqui te los llevas igual, currando la mitad, osea que, no seais tan altivos, egocentricos, etc.... y acordaros de los de contrato, los de la bolsa, los nuevos etc...ya que todos habeis pasado, por eso, y siempre recordad que teneis hijos, amigos, conocidos, que como no lucheis, para que se hagan indefinidos, no los vais a poder meter en esta empresa. UN SALUDO COMPAÑEROS.......
ALGO DE PREVENCIÓN
Solamente deciros que la pasada semana se reunió el Comite de Prevención con la Empresa a peticion de ésta y se les comunicó que la Empresa queria retomar el acuerdo que habia firmado con Continental en el 2005, relativo a la realización de los controles de Alcoholemia.El Comite de Prevención como no podia ser de otra forma, dijo que respetariamos lo ya firmado, siempre y cuando se respetaran las condiciones ya firmadas de la realizaciones de los controles.Asi que ya sabeis,a partir de ahora y en cualquier momento y con los protocolos redactados en ese Acta, os podrán realizar dichos controles.
