MANILA - Manufacturer Suzuki Motor Corp. will develop its market in Southeast Asia. After Indonesia, Suzuki will double its production capacity in the Philippines.
As reported by Reuters, Suzuki and disbursed about 2.1 billion yen to build a new plant near Manila.
The new plant has a production capacity of 200,000 units. Currently the plant is built and will start operating in June 2012.
Suzuki spokesman said, the plant which currently stands in the Philippines was no longer fit to produce motors in large numbers. This old factory has a production capacity of only 85,000 units per year.
In 2010, the motorcycle market in the Philippines rose 19 percent to around 760,000 units.
