I just recently moved to a small town to raise my six year old up in. He seems to be very popular here. Anyways, I ran into a few car problems while living here. Since I am no longer able to do some of my own repair work, I rely on other mechanics here to do it for me.
I remember how the bigger cities were so cold and mean to their customers. It seems like they had one and only one policy to stick by. No exceptions! (unless the customer knew one of the mechanics personally) The auto repair shops always seemed to be nice and courteous to ya just until they can get a work order approved by you then they try to hurry and get you out as fast as possible. That’s where mistakes are being made on your vehicles.
To the mechanic, time is money! The faster they can get your car out the quicker they can get the next one in. I would honestly say it’s not their fault. The way they get paid is outrageous! Instead of doing a good job they have to hurry and beat a time clock or they lose money for they day. In my earlier blogs I mentioned being paid by “Flat Rate or Book time” for their jobs they are performing on your car.
Just because they are hired in at $30 per hour doesn’t mean that is what they actually get. For instance, if I was to replace a starter for the day and the shop charged you $60 for the labor, I would only receive the $30 for the whole day if no other cars were worked on by me.
But I would want to rush that car out of there as quick as I could just in case another car came in. My thinking would be if I could up sell and do more starters for the day then I could really make some money at $30 per hour. So be careful and cautious when you pick up your car. Make sure it is clean and working like it should.

Tanner Foust Moving To European Rallycross Championship for 2010

Tanner Foust has about the most solid "car guy" curriculum vitae there is. Drift king, stuntman, rally champ, X Games legend, TV star, momentary Top Gear USA host, two-time U.S. representative for the International Race of Champions and of most important/impressive, Autoblog Podcaster. Well friends, let's go ahead and add Rallycross participant to Tanner's already padded resume.
When/Where/Why? Foust will be competing in the 2010 European Rallycross Championship as the sole American representative. Tanner will be traveling to Europe for the first four races before returning to the United States and bringing the races with him. For those unfamiliar with the discipline, rallycross is similar to rally racing, only the cars are typically 50 percent more powerful (600 horsepower as opposed to 400 hp) and the quick stages consist of dirt, jumps and tarmac. Tanner will of course be driving the same 600 hp devil of a Ford Fiesta he took to a bronze medal at last year's X Games.
Says Foust, "I've been watching European-style Rally Cross for years. I love the combination of dirt, pavement, jumps and door-to-door action – it's like a real-life videogame. I'm really excited to be on the leading edge of this discipline as it grows in the U.S. It's been popular in Europe for years – the fans here are going to love it." Os vamos a resumir el RD 1032/2007 por el que se regula esto del C.A.P y os vamos a ir poniendo enlaces en donde podeis aceder a información paralela a la que aqui os demos.
En teoria esta nueva capacitación es para adaptarnos a las nuevas exigencias del transporte.
Para los que se sacan recientemente el carnet, el CAP le acredita la aptitud profesional. Para éstos conductores noveles, el curso es 280 o 140 horas, según si es acelerado o continuo, y los que ya disponemos del carnet es de 35 horas.
Esta formación continua tiene por finalidad profundizar y revisar los conocimientos adquiridos y mantener actualizados los conocimientos haciendo especial hincapié, en la seguridad y en la racionalización del consumos de carburante
¿PARA QUIEN ES EXIGIBLE EL C.A.P?
Para todos los conductores con la categoria del Carnet C1,C1+E,C,C+E,D1,D1+E o D+E
¿DESDE CUANDO ES EXIGIBLE ESTA FORMACIÓN?
Desde el 11 de Septiembre del 2008 para los trabajadores de Mercancias y desde el 11 de Septiembre del 2009 para los trabajadores de Viajeros
Esto quiere decir que si nuestro carnet es anterior al 11 de Septiembre del 2009, estamos exentos de la cualificación inicial de 280 o 140 horas,pero no del de Formación Continua de 35 horas.
¿CUANDO DEBO TENERLO?
Hay unas fechas limites dependiendo en que numero termine nuestro carnet de Conducir:
¿DÓNDE SE IMPARTEN LOS CURSOS?
Sólo podran reaizarse en Centros de Formación autorizados por el Organo Competente de cada Comunidad Autonoma.
Una vez que terminemos el Curso,tenemos 6 meses para presentarnos al examen,sino expirará el Curso.Las CC.AA están obligadas a convocar examenes por lo menos 6 veces al año.
Los examenes constan de 100 preguntas tipo test con 4 respuestas alternativas.Las respuestas correctas se puntuan con 1 punto y las erroneas se penalizan con 0.50 puntos negativos.Las no contestadas no puntuan ni en positivo ni en negativo y es necesario un minimo de 50 puntos para aprobar.Todo esto tendrá una duración maxima de dos horas.Tras esto nos darán un documento acreditativo de estar en posesión de dicha capacitación, la cual tendrá una validez de 5 años, la que tendremos que llevar a bordo del vehiculo en todo momento en que nos encontremos conduciendo.......¡¡ya sabeis!!Tarjeta del CAP,Carnet de Conducir,Tarjeta de Tacografo,Discos de 28 dias y los posibles Certificados de Exención de Discos de Tacografo,la Tarjeta de Libres por si nos la pide la Autoridad....en fin,que en breve con maletín a trabajar para llevar tanto documento.
EL CURSO DE 35 HORAS
Este es elque nos afecta y por eso es en el que nos vamos a centrar.
Dando por supuesto que es en un centro autorizado y en el mismo año,podremos realizar el Curso en 5 periodos de 7 horas.
En fin, que esperamos haberos aclarado algo de este nuevo Curso y Obligación que nos han metido de rondon.
