Assen - Colin Edwards reveals one key to Honda's strength this season. He admitted it is difficult to compete with Casey Stoner et al. because Honda has tremendous acceleration.
The Honda rider was so dominant in the series of MotoGP competition earlier this year. Five of the six they won the initial series, four by Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa past one. Last three series at Le Mans, Catalunya, and Silverstone became theirs.
Edwards acknowledges that the pursuit of the Honda riders on the track is not an easy job. The reason, they are equipped with highly reliable motors.
"The biggest problem we have with the Honda is about the first touch of the gas to shift into second gear, third and fourth. I can not touch them. I can not stay with them," I Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider in MCN.
"It does not matter if I was behind (Marco) Simoncelli, Stoner, or Pedrosa, I had difficulty to get closer to them," Edwards said.
Edwards also compare the Honda to Ducati motorcycles.According to him, it is much easier than the Ducati rider overtook the Honda rider.
"Ducati, on the other hand, I do not really see the power greater than our motors. At maximum speed, it seems I was able to overtake Valentino (Rossi) or Nicky (Hayden), if I wanted, on a straight track when I was behind them , "said the rider from Texas.
