Ford Focus
Artists Lyken, FiST, Syrkus, Rue 5, Death Rattles and Al White from Glasgow's Independent Recoat Gallery, worked in a temporary public studio outside the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in Buchanon Street for six hours on a Ford Focus to create a piece of artwork which will be featured for the next month as part of the Ford Centenary Tour.
Recoat Gallery manager, Amy Whiten, said: "The artists we have at Recoat have been doing great work in Scotland and we are delighted to get the chance to show what we can do. We've worked on a few different vehicle projects but this is the first time the artists have collaborated on completely restyling the paint job of a car."
The Ford Centenary Tour is an exhibition which highlights Ford's history in the UK and future plans. Over the duration of the tour, 20 UK locations will be visited, including Ford plants and dealers, where contact will be made with customers, employees and enthusiasts ranging from Inverness to Plymouth.
The Ford Centenary Tour runs through to 18th September 2011 culminating at the Goodwood Revival in Chichester, West Sussex.
