MINI is supporting Burton for the second time, in organising the Burton Global Open Series, which takes place annually, drawing in tens of thousands of spectators not to mention the top snowboarders from around the world.
The Creative Use of Space award launched by MINI last season, draws on the MINI philosophy of utilising space intelligently. The $85,000 prize money is awarded to the male and female riders demonstrating the most inventive and progressive tricks on the halfpipe or slopestyle competitions. The overall winners of the 2011/12 Burton Global Open Series will be presented with a brand new MINI Countryman which, with its 1170 litres of luggage space provides ample space for a full snowboarding kit.
