Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle
At the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in September, the production version of the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) will receive its debut.
A new, more compact lithium-ion battery features in the new Toyota Prius Plug-in, developed under rigorous standards for reliability, and providing an extended electric power range and allowing the Toyota Prius PHEV to achieve fuel efficiency of 128.4mpg and 49g/km CO2 emissions.
The Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid is Toyota's latest development of the Synergy Drive (HSD) system. This hybrid technology now features in more than two million cars worldwide.
The new Toyota Prius Plug-in will become the flagship of the Toyota Prius range. In 2012, it will join Toyota's hybrid range, which includes the Prius, Auris hybrid, new Prius+ seven seater and the new Toyota Yaris hybrid.
