New Lexus GS 350
At the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California, the new Lexus GS has been unveiled.
Set to become a signature feature on Lexus models in the future is the bold spindle grille, giving an impression of confidence, supported by L-shaped LED daytime running lights and headlamps utilising a projector beam design.
Engineers focus on creating a strong and agile car with the new Lexus GS to provide a more engaging driving experience. This has been achieved with a new aerodynamic body, featuring a stiffer structure, a quicker-change transmission and distinctive engine sound and exhaust note.
For the interior, the seat frame has also been redesigned and the steering column has been revised to provide increased comfort and better forward visibility. The door openings provide better entry and exit and the bootspace has a 25% increase to luggage capacity.
The interior features S-Flow, a new energy saving auto climate control system which uses the occupant detection system to direct airflow only to the front area where passengers are seated.
The new Lexus GS features ten airbags, including knee airbags for driver and front passenger, while rear seat occupants have seat-mounted side airbags and curtain airbags for all outboard occupants.
Safety systems for the Lexus GS include a Night Vision System enhancing driver visibility in the dark; Head-Up Display (HUD); a Blind Spot Monitor and Lane Keep Assist (LKA) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW).
The Connectivity system includes enhanced Bluetooth capability with automatic phonebook download and streaming audio. An industry first 12.3 inch multimedia screen is used by the navigation system, DVD compatibility as well as providing audio, climate and other vehicle information.
Audio performance is provided by an 835 watt 17 speaker Mark Levinson audio system, with 7.1 Surround Sound.
