Continental Automotive: Pricing and Specification For The SsangYong Korando

SsangYong will be returning to the UK in September 2011, led by the new SsangYong Korando crossover, priced from £16,995.

The SsangYong Korando provides a high riding position and off-road capabilities with low emissions and running costs.

Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Ital Design, the SsangYong Korando is built on a monocoque platform providing strong off road handling and on road refinement.

S, ES or EX trim levels are offered for the SsangYong Korando, with two gearboxes and either front of four wheel drive, powered by a 173bhp 2.0 litre four cylinder turbo diesel engine, delivering 360NM of torque and 157g/km CO2 emissions.

The entry level SsangYong Korando features cruise control, ESP with Hill Start Assist and reverse parking sensors as standard. The ES and EX come with a sunroof, climate control, leather upholstery and heated front and rear seats.

The on demand four wheel drive system of the SsangYong Korando will constantly assess the grip available, distributing power to the wheels which most need it. During normal driving, all the torque is sent to the front wheel, offering the best fuel efficiency. When the front tyres begin to loose traction, power will then be proportioned to the rear wheels. There is also an all wheel drive lock mode, provided to deliver 50/50 torque between front and rear wheels at speeds of up to 25mph, required in situations such as traversing a slippery tack or a wet field towing a caravan or horsebox.
