Kia Venga Production
Production has begun on the Kia Venga at the European factory in Zilina, Slovakia. Previously, the MPV had been built in the Czech Republic.
The Kia Venga has been presented with design and environmental awards from the iF product design award and the Red Dot Award for product design. It has been confirmed by TUV NORD that the Kia Venga meets environmental standards ISO 14040 after assessing the life-cycle of the the vehicle.
Kia's Zilina plant is expanding to include a third shift and a second engine shop employing an extra 1000 staff. During 2011, 40 million Euros has been invested by Kia into modifying the production lines in order to incorporate the Kia Venga as well as investment in staff training. During the first half of 2012, Kia Slovakia plans to employ more than 1000 new staff in all facility areas including quality inspectors, welders and assembly operators.
