Volvo XC70
Volvo has launched its 2011/2012 Winter Programme to ensure drivers are prepared for the winter, with complete confidence in their Volvo vehicle.
As well as announcing its Winter Tyre and Winter Safety Inspection, Volvo has also announced that the Volvo XC60 and XC70 are now available as a D3 with All-Wheel-Drive and the Volvo V60 can be ordered with AWD.
The V60 D5 AWD (215hp), XC60 D3 AWD (163hp), XC70 D3 AWD (163hp) are available from £34,020, £29,100 and £30,615 respectively and can be ordered now.
Winter tyres are specifically designed to not only offer improved traction in the snow but also in temperatures below 7 degrees Celsius, offering more grip and shortening braking distances by up to 10% in the wet and up to 20% on icy roads.
Demand far outweighed supply in 2010, with winter tyres completely sold out within six weeks. In order to ensure dealers can provide drivers with the benefit of winter tyres, Volvo has increased stock levels in order to hold a minimum of 10,000 tyres - more than four times 2010's stock.
"The time is right for drivers to start thinking about changing from their standard tyres to winter tyres. As we've experienced over the last few years, there is strong demand for these tyres and it is growing every year" says Lee Berrell, Aftersales Manager for Volvo Car UK.
Optionally, drivers can order alloy wheel and premium tyre packages, a set of four premium tyres or individual premium tyres. 16", 17" and 18" tyres and packages are offered by Volvo, dependant on model and existing wheels fitted to the vehicle. Prices start from £495 (£85 fitting) for four tyres and £1100 for alloy wheels and tyre packages
Volvo retailers can also provide storage for other sets of alloys or tyres for £85 every six months.
Volvo has launched an iPhone app which allows customers to see what potential alloy wheels would look like on their vehicle by taking a picture of the vehicle and the app will replace the wheels with the chosen design allowing customers to select the correct ally wheel/winter tyre combinations.
