Mazda TAKERI Concept
At the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show the next generation mid-sized saloon, the Mazda TAKERI concept, will premiere.
For the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, Mazda's theme will be "Environmental Technology, Pushing the Boundaries of the Emotion of Motion. As long as there are people who love to drive, Mazda will continue to evolve the emotion of motion in harmony with environmental and safety performance."
The TAKERI concept car benefits from Mazda's new design language - Soul of Motion, bringing a new level of strength and allure to mid-size saloon styling. SKYACTIV Technology including Mazda's first regenerative braking system. This technology will convert kinetic energy to electricity during deceleration, which is stored in capacitors which will then be used to power the electrical equipment in the vehicle, meaning a reduced load on the engine which will save fuel.
This technology, combined with the new SKYACTIV-D diesel engine, Mazda i-stop, a new lightweight structure, aerodynamic and chassis technologies will allow the Mazda TAKERI concept to achieve high levels of fuel economy, vigorous performance and a comfortable ride.
The new Mazda CX-5 crossover SUV will also have its Japanese debut, boasting Mazda's SKYACTIV Technology.
The new Mazda CX-5 is the first production model featuring Mazda's KODO design language paired with SKYACTIV Technology engines, transmission, bodyshell and chassis. The lightweight, aerodynamic design results in frugal diesel and petrol engines with fun-to-drive attitudes. Also featuring in the CX-5 is Mazda i-stop and fuel saving transmissions. The Mazda CX-5 is expected to go on sale in the UK during 2012.
