During the first nine months of 2011 Skoda has reported a 16.8 per cent worldwide sales increase compared to the same period in 2010.
Between January and September, deliveries rose to 664,800 units (569,000 vehicles in 2010). 81,200 cars were delivered in the third quarter (75,800 in 2010), setting an all-time sales record in September.
"Skoda is continuing on the fast track this year," said Jurgen Stackmann, Board Member for Sales and Marketing. "Our growth trend is in good shape; we are growing in all regions, and in 2011 we will exceed the 800,000 new car sales mark for the first time."
He added: "With the Citigo compact car and the Rapid made in India, we have already introduced the first two new models. As a result, Skoda will tap into new customer segments."
Skoda sales grew by 2.6 per cent in Western Europe to 35,200 vehicles in September. Sales in the UK rose to 7200 vehicles - a 33.2 per cent increase, Switzerland saw a rise to 1700 vehicles - a 27.9 per cent increase and Norway sales rose 27.7 per cent - 700 vehicles.
In the Czech market, Skoda sold 5100 vehicles during September, a third of the motor market.
Croatia reported an 85.9 per cent increase, Romania by 9.6%, in Hungary by 8.9% and in Ukraine by 7.1%.
