Alfa 4C Concept

The Alfa 4C Concept will be on show at the 2011 International Motor Show in Frankfurt in September, finished in a new and exclusive 'fluid metal' exterior colour.

The project has seen refinement and enrichment over recent months alongside technical contents which enhance the dynamism of the Alfa 4C Concept. The concept weighs 850kg and the engine produces over 200bhp with a power to weight ratio of under 4kg per HP.

The Alfa 4C Concept is a two seater, rear wheel drive coupe with a central engine and a length of around 4 metres, a wheelbase of under 2.4 metres, emphasising the compact attributes of the concept.

Technology and materials - including the use of carbon, aluminium and rear wheel drive - of the Alfa 4C Concept are derived from the 8C Competizione and technology from current Alfa Romeo models: the 1750 turbo petrol engine with direct injection, the ALFA TCT twin dry clutch transmission; and Alfa's DNA technology, which includes the Alfa DNA dynamic control selector.

Joining the Alfa 4C Concept will be the Alfa Romeo Giulietta complete with the next generation ALFA TCT twin dual dry clutch semi automatic transmission, providing a sportier feel than standard automatic gearboxes alongside improved efficiency and reduced fuel consumption.

Two engines will be available for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta with the ALFA TCT transmission, the 1.4 TB MultiAir 170 bhp engine and the 2.0 JTDM-2 170 bhp diesel engine.

Two new engines for the Alfa Romeo MiTo will be showcased at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, a 0.9 TwinAir TB 85bhp and a new 1.3 JTDM 85bhp. The TwinAir engine developed by Fiat Powertrain produced 85bhp at 5,500rpm with 145Nm of torque at 2000rpm. The Start&Stop technology and smart alternator means the TwinAir engine produced 98g/km CO2.
