New BMW 6 Series Coupe
The new BMW 6 Series Coupe boasts enhanced comfort and improved sporting performance. The BMW 6 Series features a sweeping coupe roofline, a long bonnet, short overhangs on a long wheelbase.
Two turbocharged petrol engines and a twin turbocharged diesel powerplant are available for the new BMW 6 Series Coupe, with a newly developed chassis and a number of driver assistance technologies.
For the first time, optional Adaptive LED Headlights are available providing a white light that is similar to natural daylight with low and high beam LED light rings. Horizontal LED ribs, positioned in the centre of the light retain BMW's hallmark twin round headlight look whilst being expressed in a new and fresh way. The Adaptive LED lights will pivot automatically adjusting to the line of the corner, dependent on speed, steering angle and yaw rate.
The new 2+2 BMW 6 Series Coupe offers improved headroom from front and rear passengers with the driver and front passenger seats adjustable over a greater range. The individual rear seats provide passengers with more shoulder and elbow room.
The BMW 6 Series Coupe's 3.0 litre twin turbocharged inline six cylinder engine develops 313hp at 44--rpm and 630Nm of torque from 1500rpm. The BMW 640d Coupe achieves 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
As standard, the BMW 640d is fitted with an eight speed automatic transmission with Auto Start-Stop and active air flaps behind the kidney grille, achieving 51.4mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of 145g/km.
The new BMW 650i Coupe's 4.4 litre cylinder engine has a maximum of 407hp developed between 5500 and 6400rpm with peak torque of 600Nm between 1750 and 4500rpm.
0-62mpg is reached in 4.9 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 155mph. Fuel consumption on the combined cycle is 26.6mpg with CO2 emissions of 246g/km.
The new BMW 640i Coupe features a six cylinder in-line engine with a single turbocharger alongside direct injection with VALVETRONIC fully variable valve control developing a maximum 320hp at 5800rpm and maximum torque of 450Nm between 1300 and 4500rpm. The new BMW 640i Coupe reaches 62mph from standstill in 5.4 seconds on to an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
ECO PRO fuel saving technology is available for the new BMW 6 Series. This allows for tweaks to the engine management system, accelerator mapping and gear-shift characteristics at the touch of the Drive Dynamic Control Button, favouring a relaxed, low revving driving style. Power usage for electronically operated functions including climate control is regulated for maximum efficiency. To encourage an economical driving style, a display on the instrument cluster keeps the driver informed of the levels of energy efficiency being achieved.
All three new BMW 6 Series Coupe models feature an eight speed Sport automatic gearbox as standard, offering a wide range of ratios.
Standard equipment for the BMW 640i Coupe and 640d Coupe include 18 inch light alloy wheels, while the 650i Coupe comes as standard with a 19 inch light alloy wheel. All models feature Dakota leather upholstery, eight-speed Sport automatic transmission, electric seat adjustment with memory, BMW Professional Multimedia Navigation system, Xenon headlights, LED front fog lights and front and rear Park Distance Control.
The BMW 6 Series Coupe is now available in M Sport specification, adding the M aerodynamic body-styling package, 19 inch M light alloy wheels, dark chrome exhaust tailpipes, High-gloss Shadowline exterior trim and black brake 8 callipers. Inside Anthracite headlining, Aluminium Hexagon trim, Sport seats and M Sport multi-function leather rimmed steering wheel are fitted.
Optional equipment for the new BMW 6 Series Coupe includes Surround-view, BMW Night Vision with pedestrian recognition, Parking Assist, Lane Change Warning System, Lane Departure Warning System, Speed Limit Display and, still unique in the segment, Head-up Display.
