BMW X5
According to a survey conducted by Tesco Cars, the BMW X5 is the car that most 'school run' parents would want to be driving. More than 600 people were involved in the poll, with the BMW X5 chosen as the vehicle that most parents are envious of.
The survey was conducted as parents undertake the first week of school runs for the new school year. Around one out of five cars in Britain are involved in school runs during peak driving hours.
The BMW X5, which returns 38mpg on the combined cycle, received 19% of the votes, followed by the MINI Countryman SUV, with 14%.
Most parents opted for vehicles that are large and luxurious over smaller and possibly more economical vehicles. SUVs dominated the results, offering space, presence and a premium badge.
