Rolls Royce 1701
A 1911 'Experimental Speed Car' known as 1701, the first 100mph Rolls Royce, will feature at the Goodwood Revival show between 16th and 18th September 2011, joined by a new Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe.
Currently, 1701 is taking part in the re-enactment of the 1911 London to Edinburgh Top Gear Trial. 1701, featuring the registration R-1701, led a procession of 17 historic Rolls Royce Silver Ghosts from between 1911 - 1922. The cars started at the Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall on Sunday 11th September.
Torsten Muller-Otvos, CEO, Rolls Royce Motor Cars, said, "I am delighted to present 1701 at the Goodwood Revival 'Earls Court Motor Show', alongside a stunning new Phantom Drophead Coupe. The company ethos - 'Strive for perfection' - has remained the same for over 100 years and is embodied in these two exceptional motor cars."
