At the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the new Lexus GS 450h full hybrid will make its world debut.

The new Lexus GS 450h boasts an all new exterior and interior reflecting the development of the Lexus L-finesse design philosophy. The exterior revisions include a stronger front impression to deliver a commanding presence.

For the interior, ergonomics combine with a driver-focused cockpit with advanced interface features to help keep the driver alert as well as keeping all on board comfortable for long journeys.

A new energy saving air conditioning system with S-Flow and Nano-e technologies makes it first appearance on the new Lexus GS 450h, as does a second generation Remote Touch Interface to control the multi-information display screen, which is the world's largest, and a choice of audio systems.

A V6 Atkinson cycle petrol engine powers the Lexus GS 450h, with a two-motor hybrid system in configured as front engine/rear wheel drive.

The second generation Lexus Hybrid Drive system offers reductions in fuel consumption, CO2, NOx and PM emissions with comparable performance to V8 powered rivals.

Driving dynamics have been improved with the Lexus GH450h, through a re-engineered bodyshell, new suspension, more powerful brakes and technologies including Active Variable Suspension (AVS) and Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS).

The Lexus Dynamic Handling System can also be specified for the Lexus GS 450h, integrating AVS, DRS, Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS) and Step 5 of Lexus’s Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management, in order to co-ordinate front and rear wheel control as well as provide sharp and accurate handling.

Driver assistance and safety technologies featuring in the Lexus GS 450h include VDIM Step 5 now integrates the new DRS system, the Advanced Pre-Crash Safety system (PCS) incorporates a Driver Monitor Camera and Adaptive Cruise Control system (ACC) which will function at all speeds down to 0mph.

Other safety features include Lane-Keep Assist (LKA), a Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), the Lexus Night View system and a Head-Up Display (HUD).
