SsangYong XIV-1 Concept
The SsangYong XIV-1 Concept, derived from the phrase 'eXciting user Interface Vehicle', is on show at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The SsangYong XIV-1 is the concept version of SsangYong's B-segment CUV project, which will then lead to a mass production model. The concept has been built to illustrate SsangYong's heritage and future design vision, built under the philosophy of 'Robust, Specialist, Premium'.
The SsangYong XIV-1 Concept's exterior features a continuous glass area with ideal proportions of a compact SUV. Inspiration comes from the side view of a graceful sailing yacht, which instantly suggests outdoor activity and enjoyment. The wide C-pillar and slim roof seem to be float above the body.
At the front end, the SsangYong XIV-1 gives a robust impression and is similar to that of the new SsangYong Korando, featuring LED headlamps.
Coach doors mean there is no need for B-pillars which allows for easy access for passengers and allows for the exterior's uninterrupted side profile.
The SsangYong XIV-1 aims to provide maximum enjoyment of movement on the interior, offering passengers a moving communication space. The interior concept has been named 'each one & all together' by SsangYong's designers. Passengers can move and rotate all seats through 360 degrees as well as moving backwards and forwards.
A wide symmetrical instrument panel with accented aluminium dials gives an impression of a wide cabin, which is supported by mood lighting which allows for the perfect ambient lighting to be achieved/
The user interface of the SsangYong XIV-1 concept offers interaction with functions through the use of Smart mobile devices, likely to be carried by driver and passengers at all times. Audio, dashboard information display and online communications can all be controlled by such devices.
