New Suzuki Swift Sport
At the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the new Suzuki Swift Sport will be on show.
The flagships model of the Swift range, the Suzuki Swift features higher levels of tuning, steering and braking performance than the standard Swift on which it is based.
The exterior of the Suzuki Swift Sport have been revised to give a more sporty look, with a large front grille and large distinctive finned fog lamp bezels.
The new Suzuki Swift Sport features exclusive new aerodynamic parts to control airflow, suppress life and give a lowed visual appearance. The car boasts newly developed high-intensity discharge headlamps and new design rear combination lamps.
Greater toe and camber rigidity for the torsion beam, greater lateral rigidity in the torsion beam bushings and larger rear wheel bearings improve rear stability during hard cornering. The spring rates of the front and rear coil springs have been increased and added rebound springs in the front struts help with stability with greater roll stiffness.
The new Suzuki Swift Sport is powered by the M16A engine based on that of the previous model. A new variable intake system, optimisation of the intake VVT and increased valve lift allow for maximum output to rise from 92kW of the previous model to 100kW with the new. Maximum torque increases from 148Nm to 160Nm. The new Suzuki Swift Sport also benefits from improved fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions are reduced to 147g/km from 165g/km.
The manual transmission of the new Suzuki Swift Sport has been specifically developed to benefit from the M16A engine's performance. The gearbox now offers 6 gears, up from the previous model's 5. Lower shift effort is provided by a triple-cone synchromesh for first and second gears. A larger counterweight at the transmission end of the shift level provides a lighter and more positive shift.
The new Suzuki Swift Sport's exterior is finished by exclusive 17 inch aluminium alloy wheels as standard, with a shard design offering a saving of around 1kg of weight over the previous Swift Sport.
