SsangYong SUT-1
The SsangYong SUT-1 has debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, now ready for mass production.
The traditional pick-up body has seen modern design techniques applied to result in an SUV which reflects SsangYong's dynamism and strength. The SsangYong SUT-1 is suitable for a variety of drivers and activities from a hard working truck to camping, skiing or cycling.
The SsangYong SUT-1's interior offers the comfort and luxury of a premium SUV with equipment including a sunroof, RDS & Bluetooth audio, rear view camera, hinge sprung tailgate and a trip computer.
Safety functions include ESP, Active Rollover Protection, Brake Assist System (ABS), seatbelt pretensioners with load limiters and dual airbags. The SsangYong SUT-1's body is built upon an ultra-rigid frame.
Handling and comfort come courtesy of double wishbone and five link suspension, generally more common on full-sized SUV models. The engine mounts have received tuning in order to minimise vibration under all driving conditions.
All variants of the SsangYong SUT-1 are powered by the 155PS 2.0 Active Diesel Engine complying with Euro 5 emissions allows for a balance between economy and performance with CO2 emissions of 186g/km. Peak torque of 360Nm is available between 1500 and 2800rpm with 190Nm is available at 1000rpm. Both manual and automatic transmissions benefit from a sixth gear for maximum comfort and economy at cruising speeds.
SsangYong designers worked under the philosophy of 'Robust, Specialist, Premium' when designing the SsangYong SUT-1, resulting in a bird-wing shaped radiator grille and headlamp silhouette.
The SsangYong SUT-1 offers a five-seat cabin for driver and passengers to travel in comfort alongside a 2m2 deck to hold all manner of equipment.
