Subaru XV
The new Subaru XV has been unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, which was designed under the concept 'Urban Adventure'.
The Subaru XV's interior provides a roomy passenger compartment and cargo area which is both spacious and convenient. Door opening dimensions have been enlarged at a high seat position makes for simple entry and exiting of the vehicle.
A focus on convenience sees the Subaru XV provide generous storage space for small objects in ideal locations. The Multi Function Display is located in the upper middle section of the instrument panel to ensure high visibility. A large 4.3 inch full colour LCD provides advanced infotainment such as eco-driving display and vehicle information display.
The exterior of the Subaru XV features a new type of crossover design combining stylish lines with a high body and side cladding suggesting a functional SUV.
The front of the Subaru XV sees a hexagon grille flanked by hawk eye headlights, both of which have been designed to emphasise the identity of Subaru vehicles. The design of the alloy wheels and cut-away cladding provide a sporty appearance.
To enhance the aerodynamic performance of the Subaru XV, the front and rear bumper corners feature specially designed edges.
Powering the Subaru XV is the new generation Subaru Boxer engine in 1.6 and 2.0 litre models. The engine offers improved fuel efficiency and exhaust performance. Further fuel efficiency comes from the use of the new Lineartronic (CVT) and newly developed "Auto Start Stop System".
The partition windows are integrated into the front doors and the door mirrors are located on the door panels which has resulted in top-level forward visibility with reduced blind angles. The streamlined rear roof edge has been designed to avoid impacting on rear vision.
Alongside SRS driver's and passenger's airbags, SRS side airbags and SRS curtain airbags, SRS driver's knee airbag are included as standard across the Subaru XV model range.
Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC)is also installed as standard across the Subaru XV range. The intervention timing of the system has been optimised and incorporates control logic that demonstrates effectiveness in danger avoidance situations.
The VDC system also features a brake assist function, providing the Subaru XV with danger avoidance performance and the driver increased confidence.
