Aston Martin One-77
The Aston Martin One-77 will feature on National Geographic's Megafactories series.
The one hour programme will follow the Aston Martin One-77 during its three year process from conception in October 2007 to the first model off the production line in October 2010.
Megafactories is filmed in high definition and features exclusive footage of the facility where up to 77 Aston Martin One-77 examples will be hand crafted, with Megafactories focusing on the skilled manufacturing process of fusing modern technology with traditional hand-craftsmanship, with one model taking 2700 man hours to complete.
Located in a specially created standalone building, the Aston Martin One-77 facility is similar to a laboratory in terms of design and detail, with an open plan space of 1000sq metres with four build positions along with specialist tools and equipment. Unlike conventional automotive production space, where the model progresses through the production line, the Aston Martin One-77 remains static during the build process.
Megafactories: Aston Martin will launch the new series on National Geographic on 4th September 2011 at 9:00pm. Sky Channels (526, 543-HD) and Virgin Media (230, 232-HD).
